Laura Dern speaks out in January issue of Channels

The historically publicity-shy Laura Dern gave channels Magazine the inside scoop on life, love, mom and movie-making in the Jan. 2000 issue, which hits newsstands coast to coast on Jan. 15.

Of life she said, "If I really sit with myself as an actress, I can say that yes, I've succeeded in doing what I love." When asked whether it's more difficult to work with people you love, such as her real-life boyfriend Billy Bob Thornton, the writer/director/co-star of her latest film, Daddy and Them, she responded, "I guess it might depend on the relationship, but for us, working together adds so much fun on the set."

Of her mom, actress Diane Ladd, she had this to say, "I was blessed and fortunate to be raised by my mom and grandmother. They both have backbone and high moral standards and wouldn't tolerate anything less from me."

And finally, when queried about the joys of movie-making, she responded, "It's about trying to figure out the truth, or the character's truth, as weird and nuts and irreverent and sweet as it might be. That's what I like. That's success."

If you feel as if sex life has lost its sizzle, don't miss the Jan. 2000 issue of channels Magazine.

In fact, Baroness de Borchgrave -- a self-proclaimed authority on the subject by virtue of her wealth of experience -- suggests that by "finding the child-at-puberty-within and incorporating frisky elements of play into your sexual routine, you can take the first step toward experiencing mind-blowing sex in the new millennium."

If mind-blowing sex is on your list of New Year's resolutions, get the full story in the Jan. 2000 issue of channels, on newsstands nationwide Jan. 15, 2000.
